Puttin' on the Pink Partners
In only two short years, the Puttin’ on the Pink style show has become one of the most talked about gala fund-raising events in our community. Perhaps most impressive is the fact that 100 percent of the $70,000 in community sponsorships raised in 2006 stayed in this community to fund local breast health programs.
With our Power of Pink partners, a growing number of breast cancer patients in the mid-Willamette Valley have been served and Project HER has experienced tremendous growth and awareness.
In 2007, 100 percent of area patients diagnosed with breast cancer learned about Project HER and Breast Health Services. A total of 158 patients have been served so far this year. All of them received education and support services; 23 percent of patients chose to be matched with a Project HER volunteer. This is a tremendous improvement over 2006, when 67 percent of diagnosed patients received support services and 10 percent chose to be matched with a volunteer.
